The hotel was built in 1873 by the Greig brothers of
Inverkeithing, whose family had connections with the
Imperial Russian Navy. Original oil paintings of the
Greig brothers will greet you as you arrive in the reception
area
The hotel has undergone a series of thorough and sympathetic
refurbishments, the latest being a complete refurbishment
in 1995. The work done then, costing almost one million
pounds, makes The Woodside one of the most comfortable
hotels in the area - and only 30 minutes away from heart
of historic Edinburgh.
