Famous local events include, naturally, the Edinburgh festival
and Military Tattoo – or the alternative ‘Fringe’
– and you can experience a wealth of cultural delights
at the annual Aberdour Summer Festival. Not to mention the
Great international rugby matches including the 6 nations
Championship at Murrayfield, and the annual Dunhill Cup at
nearby St Andrews, where superb individual, team and celebrity
golf competitions featuring the best golfers in the world,
and some of the world’s most celebrated film stars and
celebrities make for exciting and fun spectating.
This year the Open Golf Championship returns to the home of
Golf at St Andrews, where the great Jack Nicklaus will be
making his last appearance at a British Open. Hotel accommodation

There is hardly ever a dull moment in Edinburgh with a superb
all year round programme of film, theatre, cultural and musical
events. Superb motor cycling and biking events and championships
at nearby Knockhill make for exciting viewing, and throughout
Fife there is a regular annual circuit of to and village events
and festivals.
Not to forget the superb horse racing circuits at Perth and
Musselburgh (Edinburgh Racecourse), both within easy reach
